1. Who we are
Millburn Peer Tutoring matches families with Millburn High School students who tutor elementary and middle schoolers. Our tutors are high school students, not certified teachers. Independent — not affiliated with Millburn Township Public Schools.
2. Sessions
Every session is one hour, at the Millburn Free Public Library or online, never at anyone’s home. A parent may sit in on any session. Each time you book, we hold the time for up to 24 hours while we check your payment and confirm it.
3. Paying
Every session is one-to-one, $45 an hour. You pay us, never the tutor. You pay $45 by Apple Cash to millburnpeertutoring@gmail.com when you book, before the session. If we decline your booking, or you cancel more than 24 hours before it starts, you get your $45 back. Cancelling within 24 hours, or not showing up, isn’t refunded.
4. Cancelling
Cancel at least 24 hours ahead and your payment is refunded; move it then and it carries over. Inside 24 hours it can’t be moved, and cancelling it, or not showing up, isn’t refunded, because your tutor set that hour aside for you. If we decline or cancel, your tutor can’t make it, or we don’t confirm a held time within 24 hours, you get it all back.
5. Switching tutors
If a tutor isn’t the right fit, tell us and we will match a different one, at no charge.
6. Keeping everyone safe
Families and tutors talk only through this site, and we can read those messages. Sessions are never recorded or photographed. We may end a booking, or remove a tutor, if these terms or our tutor rules are broken.
7. No promises about grades
We match carefully and our tutors work hard, but we cannot promise a particular result.
